The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on May 13, 2025 announced class 12th CBSE results. The girls outperformed the boys in CBSE class 12 board exams by over five percentage points. However, the number of students scoring above 90% in the CBSE 12 CBSE result 2025 witnessed a marginal dip from last year.

In 2025, 88.39% of candidates qualified for the class 12th, a marginal rise from last year’s pass percentage of 87.98%. Of the total 16,92,794 students who appeared for the Class 12 exams, 14,96,307 successfully cleared it. This year, the passing percentages of girls and boys are 91.64% and 85.70%, respectively. The transgender candidates also made notable progress, with their pass rates doubling to 50%.

  • A total of 1,11,544 candidates have secured more than 90%, while 24,867 candidates got more than 95% marks.
  • However, in 2024, a total of 1.16 lakh students secured more than 90% and 24,068 above 95% in class 12.
  • According to CBSE 12th result declared news, out of the students who scored above 90%, 290 were children with special needs.
  • 55% of students from the special category scored above 95%.

Vijayawada Recorded the Highest Passing Percentage

Vijaywada region recorded the highest pass percentage at 99.60%, followed by Trivandrum at 99.32%. However, the Prayagraj region reported the lowest pass percentage of 79.53%. Among the schools, the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas recorded the highest pass percentage at 99.9 per cent, while the lowest was by private or independent schools at 87.94 per cent.

CBSE Rolls Out Relative Grading System

In a major reform, CBSE has rolled out a Relative Grading system for the 2024–25 academic session. Unlike traditional fixed mark ranges (such as 91–100 for A1), the new grading system evaluates students based on how their performance compares to peers in the same subject. Through this initiative, the government aims to reduce stress, stop unhealthy competition, and create a more focused and balanced academic environment.

Where to Check CBSE Result 2025?

The class 12th students who were awaiting their results can now check their CBSE results by visiting the official websites- results.cbse.nic.in, cbseresults.nic.in, and cbse.gov.in using their roll number, school number, centre number and DOB.

The students can also check their results either through SMS, Digi Locker and also the UMANG app.

How to Download CBSE Class 12th Results 2025?

To download the CBSE Class 12 scorecard from the official website, the students have to adhere to the following steps:

  • Refer to the official CBSE website at cbseresults.nic. in, results.cbse.nic.in, or cbse.gov.in.
  • Click on the “CBSE Class 12 Result 2025 Link” to check the scores.
  • The students have to mention their roll number, school number, date of birth, and centre number and click on Submit.
  • Post submitting all the details, the users will be directed to a new page which shows CBSE Class 10 result 2025/ CBSE Class 12 result 2025 marksheet.
  • The students are advised to carefully check and download the digital scorecard, take a printout and keep the hard copy for future reference.

Following the CBSE class 12 result date 2025 and declaration, the board will open the application window for verification of marks and re-evaluation. The students failing in one or more subjects have to appear in the supplementary exams.
