On April 18, 2025, a 17-year-old boy named Kunal was brutally stabbed to death in Delhi’s Seelampur area. The murder case has sparked massive protests and raised serious questions about law and order in the capital. The main suspect in the Seelampur Murder Case is Lady Don Zikra. She has been detained for questioning for further investigation. The family members of late Kunal claimed that Zikra was also present at the crime scene. Also, through CCTV footage, the police have identified two suspects, Sahil and Rehan, in connection with the stabbing.
The incident happened just a few meters away from Kunal’s home when he was going to buy food in the evening. He was attacked and stabbed several times in Seelampur’s J Block. He was immediately taken to Jai Prakash Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Who is Zikra Lady Don in Seelampur?
Zikra, or “Lady Don”, resides in Seelampur. She has a criminal background and was recently released from jail. Zikra was imprisoned under the Arms Act for carrying a gun. Based on the primary investigations, Zikra had allegedly formed a local gang and was seeking revenge for her brother Sahil, who was beaten in the past. Zikra was hunting for a man named “Lala”, who was believed to be involved in the attack on her brother. When Kunal, the victim, reportedly refused to help her find the whereabouts of Lala, Ziqra, in a fit of anger, stabbed Kunal, leading to his death.
During interrogation in the Seelampur Murder Case, Zikra confessed to being involved in the murder.
Seelampur Murder Case Triggered Public Outrage
This murder has triggered public outrage, with locals demanding justice and raising slogans like “Modiji madad karo, Yogi madad chahiye.” Kunal’s mother has made serious allegations against the police, accusing them of permitting the murderer to flee and has failing to protect her son despite prior threats. She further denied her son’s connection in a previous attack involving Sahil, Zikra’s cousin.
After the murder, a case has been registered at the Seelampur police station, and the police have set up multiple teams to track other prime suspects, including Zikra’s brother, Sahil.
According to the locals, Zikra often roams the streets with a gang of several boys, which creates a tense atmosphere. A few days back, she posted a video waving a country-made pistol, which eventually led to her arrest under the Arms Act. She was later released on bail and, since then, has been living near Kunal’s home.
Delhi Chief Minister, Rekha Gupta, has responded to the incident, stating that “I have spoken to the Police Commissioner. The FIR has been registered, and the culprits will be arrested soon. Justice will be delivered.”
After the Seelampur Murder Case, the security has been increased, with local police and the Rapid Action Force deployed following protests by locals and Hindu outfits like the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP).
The murder has sparked political tensions, with political parties, the BJP and AAP, blaming each other for the deteriorating law and order situation in the capital. The incident has once again caught everyone’s attention to the increasing crime rate in northeast Delhi’s Yamuna Paar region, often referred to as “Pataal Lok” due to frequent violence cases among the local gangs and murders involving even minors.
