On Tuesday, the AAP unanimously selected Atishi to become the next Chief Minister of Delhi after Arvind Kejriwal proposed her as his successor during a party meeting with legislators.
Following his release from jail on Friday, Arvind Kejriwal announced on Sunday that he would step down from his position as Chief Minister, vowing to return only if the public provides him with a certificate of integrity.
